where do the names flutter-by and rabidhamster come from?
Flutter-by comes from a term swimmer's use. It's actually just the name
butterfly (a racing stroke in case you didn't know) turned around. Being as
how i was with Chris when we thought up the name, and we're both swimmers, it
seemed appropriate.
Rabid Hamster is a name Dan and his friend thought up in the seventh grade.
He needed a cool sounding screen name so they came up with "Rabid Hamster"
because i guess "Rabid Dog" was already taken. Plus, hamsters are funny. So
he uses the same name to this day to signify his great fx work.
What is Flutter-By Films?
Flutter-By is a movie company headed by Steven Rhoden and Daniel
Reifenberger. Steve is in charge of thinking up scripts, collecting actors,
filming, and directing the movies; Dan is in charge of editing, funding, web
page building and sometimes filming as well. They have equally important
parts in the Flutter-By. Together they work to make better and more
interesting movies on shoestring budgets with friends all in the name of
pride and fun.
Of course credit must be given to the actors. Two actors are almost always
available for sure: John Flanagan and Chris Welsh. They have supported
Flutter-By since before it was an official name and the movies less
attractive. They are the reason we've survived as long as we have. Cudos.
Why do we do this?
That's simple. We like to express ourselves and let off steam through
diligent work on isane video ideas. We sincerely enjoy the painstaking
planning (believe it or not), filming, and editing. It gives us
satisfaction.
What do other people think?
Well, like most weird and different stuff, you either like it or you hate it.
People seem to mostly enjoy our zany-ness, and it boosts our egos when they
do. However...if they don't...made god have pity on their souls.
